Spring Cleaning

It's that time of year again....Spring cleaning!!! Every 6 months I pull the house apart to try and sanitize out home. I usually get grouchy because I am working my tail end off knowing that I am not the only cause of the mess. This year I solicited some cheap labor. The price...ice cream!

Grace is beautifully dressed for the occasion. The junk drawer behind her is actually Jacob's job.

Cade's job is to clean the dust off the wall that separates the kitchen and the living room. He actually likes this job. Jacob can't resist the ladder.

I gave this job to Cade so that I don't have to get up there.

By giving each child a couple of jobs, the kitchen was finished much earlier than usual.

Ben and Margaret Leave For Borneo

I told Mark that I will try to keep our blog up since he hasn't found time to post anything for over a year. We think that this will be a good way to keep in touch with Ben and Margaret while they are in Borneo. Keep in mind that this is my first post and I cannot figure out how to rearrange the photos so this first post will read in reverse. I will also back track a little starting with Ben and Margaret at the airport.

We couldn't seem to leave the airport until Ben and Margaret were out of sight. We just kept waving and waving.

Ben and Margaret are two of the most faithful and giving people that I know. They will be a natural fit in the mission field.

Grandma gave each of the grand-kids a kiss on their hand so that they could get a kiss form her whenever they needed one. Cade is giggling so hard as to disguise the tears. In the back ground, Grace had just collapsed to the ground. She just didn't know what to do with all of the emotions.

Before we took ben and Margaret to the airport, we went to Dinner at Red Lobster. The kids liked looking at the lobsters in the tank.

My Own Polar Express

When I was younger I remember waking up one Christmas and I found an electric train around our tree. My dad came over and started operating the train and started showing me how it worked. I was amazed at how he was able to know so much about the train, then he told me that when he was younger the train belonged to him and that now he was giving it to me. One of my best gifts ever!

This year I finally took it home. I need to make something for it so it can go around our tree but I took it out any way and started to play.



I like how the photo make the train appear as if it is going at some sort of super speed. After I set this up the kids took turns controlling the train. I think the sad part is they did not have as much fun as I did.

Notice we are in the door way so after a bit I had to break it down and put it away.

John Carter

After one year I still miss my friend John Carter very much. Sometimes even with faith in our Heavenly Father the understanding is sometimes very hard. Trusting and understanding is sometimes still hard. Knowing that John's kids may never even have a memory of such a wonderful person and father is hard. The only thing that would make it harder is if I had no faith that they will see him someday. That is one reunion in heaven I would really love to see.

Here are some random pictures from the summer. Kallie and I are not very good at taking pictures, but here are some. Cade at his baseball game. Cade was a really good catcher this year. He even got voted to the all star team. Watching kid pitch is really a lot more entertaining than machine pitch. The parents sometimes are more competitive also.
