Grace's Birthday

 Grace is 6!
She chose McDonald's for her birthday dinner. (We kind of hope this will mark the end of the era for McDonald's birthday dinners).
Cade doesn't even like it and he eats everything.

Here are some of the excited guests.

Grace asked us to hide her presents so that she could find them since it was the day before Easter.

Her favorite gift was a fish named Bunny.
She had been asking for it for months.
This is her bunny butt cake (sorry about the bad picture).
She also asked for a snorkel. I hope she isn't planning to use it with Bunny the fish.

Pack Meeting

Jacob finally got his wolf badge. I say finally because he earned it 3-4 months ago. the leaders kept forgetting it and leaving it in another leader's truck. It was a bit anticlimactic.
They had a game where the y had to open a candy bar while wearing work gloves. I was the dads and older brothers against the cub scouts.

Grace kept trying to hop in line with the cubs.
 Jacob helping with a cheer.

 Congrats Jacob!!!

Super Star Student

Grace was the super star for her kindergarten class this past week. On Monday Grace's class interviewed her about things she likes. On Tuesday Grace brought a look-a-like kid to class. She had to decorate and dress up a paper doll to look like her. She made it herself other than  I helped her braid the hair.
She also made a ME board that represents her. On Wednesday her teacher read a Hug and Kiss book that had letters from her family. It was shaped like a Hershey's Kiss. She brought a secret sack on Thursday that had something she liked in it. She gave three clues and her class had to guess what it was (a toy kitten).
Friday was her Show and Teach. Grace taught her class how to make slime. She did a great job.

Friday was also break the rules day. Break the rules day is 6th grade fundraiser where the kids pay to break certain rules. This year the money went to help a 6th grade girl with disabilities buy a communication device and to make a donation for a new walking track behind the school. The rules Grace broke were to wear pajamas to school, have crazy hair ( I should have taken a picture before her teacher gave her a birthday crown to wear because she also celebrated her birthday at school), chew gum, and have drink at her desk.

February

For parent teacher conferences Jacob's class made paper people that looked like themselves. They had to bring one of their shirts from home to put on it and then leave it in their chair at school so that it looked like the whole class was there for the conferences. When Jacob got to bring it home, Grace dressed it in her dress. Jacob was not too happy about it.

Cade got chosen to be student of the month at school. We were so proud of him for making a good impression on the teachers that nominated him. We let him choose where he would like to go out to eat to celebrate and he chose Goodwood Barbeque Co. I know that it would make more sense to have a picture of Cade, but he didn't get as messy as Grace and he doesn't willingly let us take his picture..
We went to the whiteout game at WSU. The kids got their picture taken with Waldo.

Grace and Jacob kept asking for some popcorn. I don't know why they even ask. I never buy treats at places like this. An older gentleman in front of them told them to tap him on the shoulder when they wanted some of his popcorn because he wouldn't be able to finish his. After a while he just gave them the bag.

This is what happens when you let 3rd graders give you a "rock star" makeover in a read-a-thon assembly. I think it looks more like a clown makeover. I had to stop and get us some dinner at the drive-thru on our way home from school since we were low on groceries and I wasn't going into the grocery store looking like this. The guy at the window looked at me funny and I just told him not to ask.
